Project Manager Job Description

Responsibilties

Follow detailed project plans outlining timelines, milestones, and deliverables
Coordinate with engineers (as necessary), clients, and subcontractors to ensure project alignment with goals and specifications
Allocate resources effectively, including personnel, equipment, and materials.
Monitor and manage the project budget, ensuring cost-effective operations and staying within budgetary constraints
Oversee daily operations on-site to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency
Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and compliance with plan and safety regulations
Serve as the primary point of contact to Operating Manager, providing regular updates on project status
Address client concerns and requests promptly, ensuring satisfaction and maintaining strong client relationships
Maintain comprehensive project documentation, highlighting key metrics and milestones
Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies
Lead and motivate project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment
Ensure all project activities comply with local and provincial regulations

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree/diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
Minimum of 4 years of experience in project management within the construction or excavation industry
Proficiency in project management software and tools
Strong understanding of construction methodologies, equipment, and safety protocols
Excellent leadership and team management skills
Strong verbal and written communication abilities, with a focus on client interaction
Demonstrated ability to identify problems and develop effective solutions
Strong decision-making skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred
Relevant safety certifications are advantageous.
High level of integrity and professional ethics
Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
